Principal Message

Marianne Rupprecht, Principal of Carter Lake

Thank you to all of you that have given me such a warm Carter Lake welcome! I am proud to be the new principal of the best school, with the best staff and the best students!

My vision for who we are ~ Carter Lake is committed to creating a vibrant academic and social culture that supports students to sustain high achieving success. In order to make this happen it will take all of us working together to ensure that we are creating an environment that supports students. I have an open door policy and invite you to talk with me about both celebrations and questions. I look forward to partnering with you! I plan to hold monthly Coffee with the Principal chats this year – our first is scheduled for Sept 27 at 8am. Please join me!

This year we will be celebrating SOAR certificate students at our lunch assemblies. Families of SOAR certificate students will be invited to join us for lunch. We will also celebrate kids that earn SOAR ticket dog tags and the lunch award winners for the month. Our first will be Sept 26 and 27 – teachers will notify you of their grade level date and time. We will have a school-wide assembly to celebrate Veteran’s Day on Nov. 8th at 8:30am – all are welcome, mark your calendars!

Morning routine:
Please have students that are eating breakfast at school arrive at 7:15am. We serve breakfast from 7:15-7:35am. Students are dismissed from the gym/cafeteria to classes by grade so that all are in classes by 7:45am. Students arriving after 7:45am will be marked tardy. On late start Wednesdays, your student(s) should not arrive earlier than 8:15am as we do not have supervision until that time.

We are having recess and then lunch this year. We have also combined grade levels to make the lunch schedule efficient and create time in para schedules to support students in classrooms for a greater portion of the day. We have increased staffing on the playground to account for the increased number of students at recess. Please send your students in clothing appropriate for rainy days (coats, etc.) since we will be outside each day. In extreme weather (extreme cold or hazardous air quality, etc.), I will make an adjustment for indoor activity.

If you have questions about any of these items or others, please don’t hesitate to check in with me.

~ Ms. Rupprecht
