Principal Message

Marianne Rupprecht, Principal of Carter Lake

Dear Carter Lake Families,

We miss you! Please know that YOU (students and families J) are on our hearts and minds at this time!

In this unprecedented time, we are all looking for some structure and predictability to our day. Take a look at the district’s suggested daily schedules for students. It’s only a suggestion; certainly adjust and make this look like it needs to for your family. Remember it’s ok be creative with each other, cook together, play games and spend time laughing.

The student learning materials are available at the lunch locations on Wednesdays (excluding April 1), at the school for pick up, or downloaded from the district website.

Free student meals are being distributed daily in Lakewood and on Joint Base Lewis-McChord to all children 18 years of age and under. Find an updated list of mealtimes and locations on the district website. It’s just a JOY to see so many of you at our Carter Lake Elementary lunch location stop at 11am.

Update regarding state testing: OSPI is canceling all state testing for the 2019–20 school year. This includes the Smarter Balanced Assessment (SBA), the Washington Comprehensive Assessment of Science (WCAS), the Washington Access to Instruction and Measurement (WA-AIM), and WIDA Alternate ACCESS for English learners.

School is expected to resume Monday, April 27th. We anticipate the last day of school to be Friday, June 19th.

Be safe and well! We look forward to seeing you all very soon!
